Planning Board approves Windrift Avalon expansion with variances

NJ AVALON — Avalon Planning Board approves oceanfront Windrift Avalon expansion project. The board unanimously approved C-2 Benefits variance relief for the second-floor tiki bar expansion, with the parking variance passing 7-1 and the third-floor terrace variance approved 6-2. Applicant attorney Michael J.
Lario, Jr. presented architect Morris Clarke, engineer John Halbruner, and company representative Marc Cerceo. Board Engineer Joseph Maffei reviewed his January 6 report. Vice Chairman Jay Gebauer and member Chuck O'Hara were unanimously elected Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson for 2026.
Discussion of a proposed boutique hotel ordinance was tabled to February 10.
